What's in the Box

A semi-recessed cabinet is the middle ground. Part of the box goes into a framed opening in the wall and a trim frame covers the cut edges, so the cabinet stands out much less than a surface model but does not need an extra-deep wall the way a fully recessed one does. That makes it a common pick for school hallways and office corridors, where codes and foot traffic favor a low profile. Its honest limit: someone has to cut and frame the opening, so plan the spot before the drywall is finished, or budget for a patch.

Choosing a Style

All three styles share the same box and trim. Basic is a plain cabinet with no alarm. Alarmed sets off a siren when the door opens, so the front desk hears that a rescue has started. Alarm & Strobe adds a flashing light for loud or large spaces.
