Rehearse Casualty Evacuation in a CV-22 Sized Cabin

NAR made the CV-22T to train the point of injury phase and the tactical evacuation phase of care at any site. It is a tandem axle trailer, which NAR describes as DOT licensed, built to the characteristics of a CV-22 aircraft, with a rear ramp for loading and unloading patients and floor rings to secure them. Crews can stage it as a treatment platform, with the cabin blacked out for night work in daylight, or as a CV-22 crash site.

The instructor controls the stress level from a NARS tablet through the Sensory Control Unit (SCU), which can be taken out of the trailer. It drives speakers for aircraft noise, fans for rotor wash, white and blue cabin lights, a beacon and a smoke generator. IP cameras record pictures or video, and NAR says the software can build debrief slides from the training log for the review afterwards.

Good to Know

This is a training trailer, not an aircraft and not a patient transport vehicle. Plan for towing and parking a 14,000 pound tandem axle trailer before it arrives.
