A Quad-Fold Casualty Litter for First Responders
NAR built the MedEVAC Litter for first responders who have to carry casualties out of active shooter, mass casualty and disaster scenes. It folds in four, so it stands only 21.5 inches tall when closed, and NAR says it opens and closes easily. NAR rates the litter at a 1,200 pound static payload and gives its own weight as 13.5 pounds.
NAR lists the bed fabric as 400D/PU nylon. Buckles to secure the patient are built in, and so are six points for hanging an IV. NAR describes the handles as ergonomically designed and says a patented joint locks the leg crossbar, so the litter does not fold up by accident.

Good to Know
NAR lists 1,200 pounds as a static payload. When carrying, use enough trained carriers for the patient, lift together, secure the patient with the built-in buckles and follow NAR's instructions. A litter moves a person; it does not keep the spine still or treat injuries.
