Combat Lifesaver Supplies in One Bag

NAR built the CLS Kit as its alternative to the US Army Combat Lifesaver (CLS) kit. One bag, with a large main compartment and attachment points on the outside, holds the gear NAR selected for 2 to 4 casualties: bleeding control, chest wounds, airway, splinting, hypothermia prevention and casualty records.

What Is Inside

• 2 Combat Application Tourniquets (C-A-T)
• 2 six inch trauma dressings and 2 rolls of NAR compressed gauze, 4.5 inches by 4.1 yards
• 2 Combat Gauze Z-Fold hemostatic dressings
• 1 NAR 28F (117 mm) nasopharyngeal airway with lubricant
• 2 HyFin Vent chest seal twin packs and 2 ARS needle decompression devices
• 1 SAM splint, 36 by 4.25 inches, and 1 six inch elastic bandage
• 1 Blizzard survival blanket and 1 Ready-Heat blanket
• 4 Fox eye shields with garters and 4 pairs of large Bear Claw gloves
• 6 alcohol prep pads and 1 roll of 2 inch surgical tape
• Large 7.25 inch trauma shears on a scissor leash and a Model 8 rescue hook
• 2 Combat Casualty Cards and 2 large permanent markers
• 1 TORQ tactical flashlight
• 1 Squad Responder Bag in MultiCam, which holds it all

Packed, about 14 by 14 by 5 inches; about 4 pounds 14 ounces.

Good to Know

The tourniquets, hemostatic gauze, chest seals and airway are for people trained to use them, such as Combat Lifesaver (CLS) graduates and medics. The ARS needle decompression devices are only for providers trained and authorized to decompress a chest within their own scope of practice.
