The Polycarbonate Eye Shield is a purpose built solution for traumatic eye injuries encountered by military medics, tactical teams, EMS providers, and first responders. Designed to meet current CoTCCC treatment protocols for penetrating eye trauma, the PES protects the injured eye by creating a rigid barrier that prevents direct pressure on delicate tissue. Its convex shape keeps dressings and transport straps from compressing the wound, reducing the risk of further damage during casualty movement. Lightweight and compact, the shield is intended for inclusion in individual first aid kits, squad IFAKs, ambulance packs, and hospital triage stations, providing a reliable means to stabilize ocular injuries in austere environments.

Purposeful Design for Simple, Correct Application

The PES uses a clear design language to speed correct application under stress. Molded from rigid, shatterproof polycarbonate, the shield resists crushing and will not flatten or disfigure when pressure is applied during transport. Ventilation holes in the shell promote air circulation around the injury, while the translucent orange color improves visibility in low light and busy treatment environments. Engraved instructions on the outer surface read "Tape over eye this side out. Nothing under shield", which helps ensure clinicians and nonmedics apply the device correctly the first time. At 3 inches by 2.375 inches and weighing roughly 0.2 ounces, the PES is easy to carry and deploy.
