The S.T.O.R.M. Course Kit for Officers

S.T.O.R.M. (Specialized Tactics for Operational Rescue and Medicine) courses were developed by the National Tactical Officers Association with the Medical College of Georgia Center of Operational Medicine. NAR built this IFAK for that training, aimed at the three injuries that most often cause preventable deaths in tactical settings: bleeding from a limb, a collapsed lung under pressure, and a blocked airway.

The Pouch

  • Wear it three ways: low on the thigh, straight on a duty belt, or on a vest or body armor by MOLLE connectors
  • Belt and leg straps come off; the leg strap has a Quick-Grip
  • Zipper that resists sand and water and repairs itself, with quiet 550 cord pulls
  • CORDURA nylon, no larger than about 7.4 by 6.9 by 5 inches closed; about 1 pound 12 ounces

What Is Inside

  • 1 C-A-T tourniquet
  • 1 six-inch Emergency Trauma Dressing and 2 S-rolled gauze (4.5 inches by 4.1 yards)
  • 1 twin pack of HyFin Vent chest seals
  • 1 NAR 28F nasopharyngeal airway with lube
  • 1 ARS needle decompression kit (14 gauge by 3.25 inches)
  • 2 pairs of Black Talon nitrile gloves and 1 polycarbonate eye shield
  • 1 combat casualty card and 1 permanent marker

Good to Know

Colors: Black, Coyote and OD Green. NAR lists it under SEL number 09ME-01-BAGM.

The nasopharyngeal airway and the needle decompression device in this kit are for people trained to use them, working within their own protocols. Every casualty treated from this kit still needs emergency medical care.
