It would take 29 gauze pads to absorb the same amount of fluid as one CoFlex AFD bandage. CoFlex AFD expands when wet, increasing absorption and retention of fluid while keeping surrounding tissue healthy. Gauze does not expand when wet. CoFlex AFD has a waterproof layer that prevents leakage and contamination. Traditional bandaging is not waterproof.
